Okay, so...... I'm tired, I've got a baby who has temporarily suspended his need to sleep and it's hot and muggy. So, I'm wondering..... does anyone know how much it costs to install central air? I've got a birthday coming up.... seems like a reasonable gift, huh?

That's the gift that keeps on giving.
I think it depends on the size of your house and the space available for the ducts and stuff (that's techy contractor talk, right there). But is any price too much for that?
It would be a reasonable gift even if you were not pregnant. And when you are pregnant, comfort is priceless.
I just spent 10 days in MA and ME, and I didn't stay anywhere that had central air. My 13 month old decided the crib at Nana's was a nifty trampoline but not a reasonable sleeping location. We're glad to be back home, with central air. I thought about it the entire flight home, when I wasn't wrestling with the aforementioned 13 month old.
Can't imagine life without our AC. Definitely a great bday gift for all in your residence, demand it!
