Given:
You and your newborn are in the supermarket -- you are about halfway done with your shopping and the baby has a total and complete meltdown. You just fed him before you left the house, so he shouldn't be hungry.....
1st baby:
You stop shopping, you try to console the baby, when that fails you leave your half full cart in the aisle and scurry from the store in tears -- you nurse the baby in the car until he/she calms down and you go home with no groceries.... husband will understand another night of Domino's Pizza.
2nd baby:
You try to console the baby while you shop -- when you realize this is not working you buy what you've collected so far -- you nurse the baby in the car until he/she calms down and you go home with half of what you went to the market for.... you'll figure out some sort of dinner with what you managed to get.
3rd baby:
You try to console the baby while you shop -- when you realize this is not working you pick up the pace and finish your shopping swiftly. When you get out to the car you do a quick analysis and determine that you live close enough that you can wait 'til you get home to nurse him/her -- he/she just ate before you left....so, it's probably just gas anyway.
I'm thinking that if there were a 4th baby, you'd probably let the deli attendant nurse him/her for you so that you could shop in peace.
