WebMd.com defines Colic as:
the extreme end of normal crying behavior in a baby between 3 weeks and 3 months of age
I've been in denial for a couple of weeks, but it's finally time to admit it -- 'Lil Dubya is colicky. He's freakin' miserable -- when we hold him we can feel the gas bubbling up and down his spiny little back -- he cries & cries.
I know it sounds ridiculous, but when he's not having a colic attack, he's a great baby -- it's amazing to me that he goes from being a model baby to being a screaming terror. We've tried just about everything -- those gas drops, work for about 3 minutes....... at most. Gripe water works sometimes -- helps induce "toots" which brings relief -- but it's short-lived and we are back to the crying, crying, crying... have tried the chairs that vibrate -- nothing, the swing -- nope, ride in the car -- useless....
Have been searching the internet, looking for more remedies to try..... slitting my wrists seems like a worthwhile solution.... the pediatrician offered to prescribe something, but I'm hoping to manage this without drugs -- although, the drop of Jameson under the tongue has gotten more and more attractive as time has gone on.
